At different times people have immigrated, leaving homes and many times leaving their families behind. Challenges and opportunities vary upon arrival as well as the process of settling in a new land. Join the Chinese-American Museum of Chicago and the Irish American Heritage Center as they compare and contrast the experience of the Chinese and Irish immigrants. They will also discuss how the current immigration policy may impede immigration to the US.
This program is part of the Chicago Cultural Alliance's Talking About... series. The Talking About...series brings together the Chicago area's ethnic communities to discuss contemporary issues that matter from the perspectives and experience of the community members themselves.
The series is funded by a generous grant from the Boeing Company. Additional support comes from The Chicago Community Trust.
